National Constitution Center To Display Signed Contracts Of Jackie Robinson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The historic contracts of baseball icon and first African American major leaguer Jackie Robinson will be on display at the National Constitution Center for a limited time only from Thursday, May 26th - Sunday, June 5th.

Robinson signed the contract, that will be on display, with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. His 1945 minor league contract with the Montreal Royals will be on display as well.

Robinson was a career .311 hitter tallying 1,518 hits, 137 home runs, 734 RBIs, and 197 stolen bases. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on the first ballot in 1962, his first year of eligibility.
