Mummers Still Gluing Glitter, Feathers & Sequins Ahead Of Parade

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --   It's New Year's Eve and Mummers' clubhouses are still buzzing with last-minute activity before tomorrow's parade.

They're still gluing feathers and sequins at the clubhouse for the Hegeman String Band at Second and Wharton Streets.

"Some years it's a little bit more of a crunch time and this year is one of those years where it's coming down to the eleventh hour.  And everybody comes together and we usually pull it off," Winski told KYW Newsradio.

Winski says in the final pre-parade hours, Hegeman is still looking for people to volunteer as parade marshals to push wheeled props and hold instruments or flags for the band's underwater mafia-themed show entitled "Codfather: The Sequel."
