Wrong-Way Driver Causes Six-Vehicle Crash On Bethlehem Pike In Hatfield, Police Say

HATFIELD, Pa. (CBS) - Police say a wrong-way driver caused a six-vehicle crash on Bethlehem Pike in Hatfield, Montgomery County on Tuesday morning. The crash happened on Bethlehem Pike near Sterling Drive, just after 8:30 a.m.

Police say a Kia Sorento was traveling northbound in the southbound travel lanes of Bethlehem Pike, when it struck four vehicles before hitting a Ford box truck and coming to rest.

The driver of a Kia was trapped for about an hour. They were rescued and airlifted to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

That person suffered internal and leg injuries, say police

Officials say five other vehicles were involved in the crash, but no one else was injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
