Mt. Airy Church Hosting Event To Help Ex-Offenders Get Back On Feet

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A Mount Airy Church is stepping up Saturday to help ex-offenders get their life back together.
"It's time for the church to step up and help the people who need the help the most," says Latrista Webb.
Webb is the coordinator of the Another Chance Conference. She is also a member of the Mount Airy Church of God in Christ, which is hosting a day full of seminars and workshops for ex-offenders including...
"Interviewing techniques, a college prep workshop, finance workshops -- now that you have a job, what do you do with you money?"
Webb says the day will also include a job fair. She says the church has members who are ex-offenders and has seen the struggle to find work after prison:
"There's a need in our community and why not the church?"
Philadelphia is home to nearly 300,000 ex-offenders.
