Motorcyclist Dead After Crash In Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (CBS/AP) -- A Maryland man riding his motorcycle has died after a crash in Delaware.

The crash happened around 8:40 p.m. Saturday in the area of East Chestnut Hill Road and South Kingston Road in Newark.

Police say 39-year-old Victor Cruz of Elkton, Maryland was riding his motorcycle eastbound on East Chestnut Hill Road when he struck the rear of a pickup truck making a left turn. Cruz, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from his motorcycle and then struck by the driver of a Honda CRV.

Cruz was taken to Christian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

No one else was injured in the collision.

The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
