Motel Worker, Guest Rescue Man Who Nearly Drowned In Pool

WILDWOOD CREST, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a motel worker and a guest rescued a man who nearly drowned in the motel's pool.

Wildwood Crest police say the 34-year-old Fair Lawn man was unconscious when he was pulled from the water at the Aztec Motel around 8 p.m. Saturday. He remained hospitalized Sunday in critical condition.

It wasn't clear how long the man had been in the water or if he suffered a medical emergency. Authorities have not released his name or the names of the two people who rescued him.

No other injuries were reported in the incident. It remained under investigation Sunday.
