Montgomery County High School To Wear Red In Support Of Kidnapped Nigerian Girls
FLOURTOWN, Pa., (CBS) -- A Montgomery County high school community wore red on Friday in support of the kidnapped girls in Nigeria.
President Obama announced earlier this week that the U.S. would help the Nigerian government locate the nearly 300 girls kidnapped from their school.
The Mount Saint Joseph Academy community gathered for a prayer and photo Friday morning. The school says the photo will be sent to U.S. political leaders.
Mount students will also sign a petition on www.whitehouse.gov. The petition name is: Work with the UN and the Nigerian government to bring home the girls kidnapped by Boko Haram.
This event is the latest example of Philadelphia area efforts to support the young women.
Rallies, protests, vigils, and a Philadelphia-based Facebook campaign, titled "200RosesNG" began in the area last week (See Related Story).
