Montgomery County Authorities Arrest 10 In Surprise "Deadbeat" Sweep

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) --  A surprise sweep by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office results in the arrest of deadbeat parents who owe hundreds of thousands of dollars in child support.

More than two dozen deadbeats were targeted.  All together, they're behind in child support by $385,000.

Sheriff's deputies arrested 10 of those parents, who owed $122,593.32 in child support arrearages for 14 children, during the overnight sweep.

Officers made arrests in Willow Grove, Pottstown and several other communities, most without any major incidents.

Officials did say one resisted arrest, and two others were found with the use of K9s after they attempted to hide from deputies.

The defendants are all awaiting hearings.
