Montco DA Says She'll Move Carefully on Grand Jury Leak Charges Against Kathleen Kane

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Montgomery County district attorney Risa Ferman says she'll carefully review the evidence against Pennsylvania attorney general Kathleen Kane, following yesterday's state Supreme Court decision allowing the case against Kane to go forward.
Kane had argued that a Montgomery County judge acted improperly when he appointed a special prosecutor to investigate allegations that Kane violated grand jury secrecy.
Yesterday, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled against Kane, so the decision to act on another grand jury's recommendation of charges against Kane, a Democrat, now rests with Ferman, a Republican.
In a statement released this morning, Ferman says she will review the case "carefully and thoroughly" with a commitment to "fairness, integrity, and justice."
Ferman also says the county DA's office and county detective bureau will undertake any further investigation that may be warranted.
