Montco Couple Charged After Phony US Currency Found In Their Home

ROSLYN, Pa. (CBS) -- A Roslyn couple has been charged with possessing counterfeit US currency after 265 phony ten-dollar bills were found in their home.
Abington police say they searched the home after a phony bill was passed at Rita's Water Ice, on Easton Road in Glenside, last Thursday evening.
"She paid with an apparent ten-dollar bill. After she had left, the people in the store realized that it was a counterfeit bill, reported it to Abington police," said Deputy Chief John Livingood.
Investigators say they got a warrant to search the couple's home on Friday.
"We did not recover any kind of printing material or presses, or anything like that. We're not sure of the origin of this money, but obviously they've been passing the bills," Livingood said.
Police say they found 265 fake ten-dollar bills and $6,000 in real cash.
"People look at ten-dollar bills, smaller denominations, a little less closely than they do big bills. They draw less scrutiny than would say a hundred-dollar bill or even a fifty-dollar bill," Livingood said.
Angela Mazzoni, 35, is accused of passing the phony bill. She and her husband, David Mazzoni, also 35, were charged with forgery and related offenses.
Police are still searching for the origin of the fake money.
