Mother Killed, Daughter Injured In Voorhees Accident ID'd By Police

VOORHEES, N.J. (CBS) – A woman is dead and her daughter was critically injured Sunday during a car accident in Voorhees, New Jersey.

Police say that Serafina Fel, 63, and her daughter Anna Veksler, 38, were attempting to cross the street when they were struck by a Ford Ranger pickup truck, operated by a Medford resident.

The incident occurred Sunday night around 8:21 p.m. at the intersection of Kresson and Evesham Roads.

Police say  that Serafina Fel had succumbed to her injuries at 9:08 p.m. at Cooper Trauma Hospital.

Anna Veksler has been listed in extremely critical condition and is being treated for life threatening injuries.

The driver of the striking vehicle did stop and provided a statement to police.

Authorities say at this time the investigation is still ongoing, but initial reports indicate distracted driving was a factor in the crash.

Police say the vehicle driver will be identified if charges are filed.
