Mirror, Mirror: 3 Of The Country's Prettiest Colleges Are Local Schools

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The nation's most beautiful college campuses have been revealed, and three area universities managed to make the cut.

Travel + Leisure compiled the September 2014 list from more than 2,600 four-year colleges across America.

Considering three key factors – landscape, architectural coherence and location – T + L ranked nearby Princeton, Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore as three of the most gorgeous places to go to school in the U.S.

"Princeton has beautiful buildings, but the exquisite landscaping amplifies them even more," explains Boston-based architect Mark deShong in the piece.

Meanwhile, Swarthmore's outdoor amphitheater is a "highlight" of the Delaware County college, while Byrn Mawr gets a nod for its "135 tree-covered acres."

Other colleges to make the list include Yale, the University of Virginia and Duke. To see the full roundup, click here.
