Milton Street Running Again For Mayor Of Philadelphia

By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Former state senator and convicted tax evader Milton Street is once again running for Mayor of Philadelphia.

As KYW's Justin Udo reports, Street expects to make it official in the upcoming weeks.

Milton, the older brother of former Mayor John Street ran for the seat back in 2011. He lost.

"The value of a postage stamp lies in its ability to stick to one thing until it get there. The value of Milton Street lies in his ability to stick to one line of endeavor until he has translated it into a fact," said Street.

Street says he does not think his checkered past or criminal history will deter voters from electing him.

"The people that I am trying to get to vote, the people that don't count, the poor people out in the community they have no concern about that," he said.

Street says a large part of his platform is to repair community and police relations.

He joins a crowded Democratic field in the mayor's race.
