Mike Schmidt Added To Phillies Sunday Television Broadcasts

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Phillies newest regular color analysts for television broadcasts bring back memories of the team's last World Series title in 2008. They're adding a little 1980 flavor to it as well.

Former Phillies third baseman and Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt will be "in the booth" for Phillies Sunday home games (13 of them) in 2014.

"Michael Jack Schmidt is one of the iconic names in Philadelphia Phillies history," Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia president Brian Monihan said in a statement. "The three new analysts, Mike, Jamie and Matt each know what it takes to earn a World Series ring, and will make our Phillies broadcasts entertaining and informative."

Schmidt joins Jamie Moyer and Matt Stairs as Phillies color analysts this season. Moyer and Stairs make their debut today in the team's first preseason game.
