Michael Phelps Wins 20th Gold Medal With 200-Meter Butterfly Win, Adds 21st In Relay

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- (CNN/CBS) -- Michael Phelps of the United States won the gold medal in the men's 200-meter butterfly swimming event at the Rio Olympics.

Masato Sakai of Japan won the silver medal and Tamas Kenderesi of Hungary took bronze.

It is Phelps' 20th gold medal and avenges his loss in his signature event to Chad le Clos of South Africa in London in 2012.

Phelps added his 21st Gold Medal later in the night when he helped to lead Team USA to a win in the men's 4x200-meter freestyle relay swimming event.
