Medical Emergency Forces Philly-Bound Plane To Land In London

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia-bound plane from Belgium was forced to make an emergency landing in London due to a medical emergency.

US Airways flight 751 was traveling from Brussels to Philadelphia Tuesday when a passenger became ill and the pilots declared an emergency and landed the plane at London Heathrow Airport.

Once on the ground, the ill passenger was attended to by medical personnel. It was not immediately known what caused the passenger to become ill.

The flight is expected to continue on its way to Philadelphia.

US Airways officials said there are 100 passengers and nine crew members onboard the plane.
