McCord Steps Down As Pa. Treasurer After 6 Years

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania state Treasurer Rob McCord is stepping down from the job after six years.

McCord's office said Thursday his last day will be Feb. 12.

The 55-year-old Democrat was elected to two four-year terms in the office and ran unsuccessfully for governor last year, losing in the primary to Gov. Tom Wolf.

The Montgomery County resident leaves with two years left in his final term. It'll be up to Wolf to nominate a successor to fill the job through the 2016 election.

McCord's office didn't say what the former venture capitalist has planned for his future.
