Mattel Gets It Right With New Ashley Graham Barbie

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Toy maker, Mattel's newest Barbie was created in the likeness of Sports Illustrated model, Ashley Graham. And like the real Graham, the doll doesn't have a thigh gap.

Graham, a lingerie model for plus-size clothing brand Lane Bryant raved about the doll on twitter, thanking the company for "immortalizing [her] into plastic."

In the past, Mattel has received backlash over traditional Barbie's image, often described as "perfect" or "unrealistic."

Earlier this year they released a line of dolls featuring different skin tones and body types, including petite, tall and curvy.
