Materials Used To Make Explosives Found In NJ Home

PATERSON, N.J. (AP) — Material that could potentially be used to make homemade explosives and some marijuana plants were found in a northern New Jersey home when police responded there for a reported domestic incident.

Passaic County authorities would not provide specific details about the items found early Sunday in the Paterson residence or release the names of the people who lived in the home. They also did not say if any arrests had been made.

Paterson police went to the home around 3:50 a.m., and the county's bomb squad responded a short time later after a woman said homemade explosives were in the residence.

Authorities soon found several containers of unknown liquids and powders and other items in the home, along with marijuana plants that were in the basement.
