Maryland Casino Hosting Atlantic City Job Fair

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — A Maryland casino is returning to Atlantic City to host a two-day job fair this week as thousands of workers in the city prepare to be laid off.

Maryland Live! Casino will host the job fair at the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel on Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Revel Casino Hotel announced last week that it was planning to close Sept. 2 after failing to find a buyer after declaring bankruptcy for a second time. The Showboat is closing on Aug. 31 and Trump Plaza is closing on Sept. 16.

The three closures will leave about 8,000 Atlantic City casino workers out of work.

Applicants for the Maryland Live! jobs must be at least 21.
