PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Other than Super Bowl, the NCAA Tournament is the greatest yearly sporting even in America. Everybody fills out a bracket. Aunt, uncles, grandmothers, grandfathers, dogs, cats, and everyone and anyone in between.

Here are some interesting facts about the NCAA Tournament per CNN.com:

  • According to a survey by the outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas, 50 million Americans participate in March Madness pools
  • As of 2013, March Madness pulls in more national TV revenue---$1.15 billion---than any other postseason sports franchise
  • According to WalletHub, there's a 19% increase in pizza orders and a 9% rise in dessert orders by fans after their teams lose
  • There's a 50% rise in the number of vasectomies
  • 27% of people say they watch games at work, according to a survery
  • 25 of the 76 champions have had mascots based on a human figure
  • 14 have been bear-related
  • 10 have been feline
