Many Congress Members In Philly Region Return To Office

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Congressional incumbents had a good night at the polls.

In Philadelphia's First District, Democrat Incumbent Bob Brady was declared the winner over Republican Deborah Williams.

In the 2nd district, former State Representative Dwight Evans handily defeated his opponent Republican James Jones. That seat previously held by Chaka Fattah who left office in disgrace.

In the suburbs, Republican incumbents were victorious. In the 6th, Incumbent Republican Ryan Costello beat Democrat Mike Parrish.

In the 7th District, Republican incumbent Pat Meehan defeated democrat Mary Ellen Balchunis.

And in the 8th Congressional District, Republican Brian Fitzpatrick declared victory over his opponent Steve Santasiero with just 33-percent of the vote counted.

Brian Fitzpatrick is a former FBI agent and the brother of the retiring incumbent, Mike Fitzpatrick.
