Man's Body Found In Creek After Leaving South Jersey Bar

MANTUA TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- Police in a South Jersey town are investigating the discovery of a man's body in a creek over the weekend.

According to police, the body of 58-year-old Theodore Smith III was discovered on the bank of the Mantua Creek near the Route 45 overpass of the creek in Mantua Township, New Jersey.

According to investigators, Smith was last seen leaving the Telford Inn in Mantua Saturday night, telling an employee he was walking home.

Smith's body was found in the creek by a Deptford Township police officer who was searching for him after Smith's wife reported him missing.

Smith lived about a half mile from where he was found.

No foul play is suspected in the death.

An autopsy by the Gloucester County Medical Examiner's Office is scheduled for Monday.
