DELMAR, Del. (CBS) -- Investigators say a Delaware man warming up his car became a victim of a home invasion during which he was tied up Friday morning.

The incident began at about 8 a.m. in the 10000 block of Bacons Road in Delmar.

According to Delaware State Police, the 54-year-old male victim was getting ready for work and went outside to warm up his car when he was approached by three white males.

One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the victim and forced him back into his house.

The suspects forced the male to the floor inside his home and his hands were tied up.

The suspects demanded money from the victim. Police say the suspects took an unknown amount of cash and firearms.

Police say the suspects stole the victim's car, a 2008 Maroon Nissan Extera, and drove away.

The victim was able to free himself and called 911.

The victim was not injured.

The three suspects were only described as white males with their faces partially covered.

Anyone with information is urged to call 302-856-5850 extension 222 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
