Man Hospitalized After Kingsessing House Fire; Family Of 3 Displaced

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Officials tell CBS 3 a 41-year-old man is hospitalized after a house fire in Kingsessing.

The fire was reported around 6 p.m. on the 1000 block of S. 52nd Street.

Officials say the victim suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. There is no word on his condition at this time.

No other injuries have been reported.

Firefighters quickly placed the blaze under control.

The American Red Cross is responding to the scene to help a family of three displaced by the fire.

The Red Paw Relief Team is also assisting one displaced cat.

There is no word on what caused the blaze.
