Police: Man Struck, Killed By Vehicle While Crossing Street

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A man was struck and killed while crossing the street Friday afternoon in the Castor section of Philadelphia.

Police say a 45- to 50-year-old man was crossing the street at Roosevelt Boulevard and Harbison Street when he was struck by a vehicle around 2:45 p.m.

The victim was transported to Frankford-Torresdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The vehicle that struck the victim is still on the scene.

The southbound inner lanes are currently shutdown at this time.
