Man Struck And Killed By Suspected DUI Driver On Roosevelt Boulevard

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed by a suspected DUI driver overnight on Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. Saturday near Bennett Road in the city's Somerton neighborhood.

Authorities say a 40-year-old man was crossing the road when he was struck. The driver did stop, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver is in custody, suspected of driving under the influence.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
