Man Stabbed Multiple Times Outside West Philadelphia High School

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are investigating the stabbing of a man multiple times outside a high school in Philadelphia early Tuesday morning.

The stabbing took place at about 2:30 a.m. right outside West Philadelphia High School at 49th and Chestnut Streets.

According to investigators, officers found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds to his back, leg and side. Officers transported the man to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is listed in critical condition.

Police are interviewing a suspect in the stabbing and charges are expected to be filed.

The motive in the stabbing was not immediately known.

The stabbing remains under investigation.
