PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A man was shot twice during a violent home invasion in Philadelphia early Monday morning.

The incident happened shortly before 6 a.m. in the 6000 block of Crescentville Road in the city's Olney section.

According to investigators, a female resident answered the door after hearing a knock. At that point, police say a suspect barged into the home and forced a male inside the home to a back bedroom.

Authorities say the suspect and the male became involved in an argument, at which point the suspect shot the male twice.

The suspect then ran out of the home.

The victim was then rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

The suspect remains on the loose.
