Man Shot Multiple Times On Busy Olney Street; Three Men In Custody

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A shooting suspect and two other men are in custody after a man was shot multiple times in broad daylight on a busy street in the city's Olney section.

Police say it happened just before noon Monday in the 5800 block of Old York Road, where a 29-year-old man was shot five times right in front of a daycare center.

Witnesses told police the gunman ran off, ducking into a rowhouse around the corner, in the 1400 block of Conlyn Street. Authorities say he refused come out, so they treated it as a barricade situation, and the SWAT team moved in.

Less than 30 minutes later, the suspected shooter and two other men were in custody.

The wounded man was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he's listed in critical condition, and described by police as uncooperative.

There was no initial word on a motive.
