Man Shot During Attempted Robbery In Oxford Circle

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An attempted robbery overnight in Philadelphia's Oxford Circle neighborhood ended in gunfire.
It happened around 3:45 a.m. Saturday in the 5900 block of Lorretto Avenue.
Police say a 49-year-old man was entering his home after a night out with friends when a man approached him in the rear alley and attempted to rob him at gunpoint.
Authorities say a struggle ensued and the victim was shot three times; once in the head, back and leg.
He was taken to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.
Investigators say nothing was stolen.
Police were searching for the gunman.
