Man Shot At Camden County Apartment Complex Dies From Wounds

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Investigators say a man found shot at a southern New Jersey apartment complex has died from his wounds.

Camden County prosecutors say the shooting was reported around 11:25 p.m. Friday at the Northgate I Apartments in Camden.

Officers responding to reports of shots fired there found 19-year-old Camden resident Johnathan Simmons lying in the rear lot of the building. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

No further details have been released about the shooting, including what type of weapon may have been used.

A motive for the shooting remained under investigation Saturday. No arrests have been made.

The shooting is under investigation by the prosecutor's office and the Camden County police.
