Man Reportedly Found In Car With Kids And Homemade Bombs In Reading

READING, Pa. (AP) — Police in eastern Pennsylvania say they arrested a man after finding him passed out in a parked car with two children and three homemade bombs.

Authorities say they discovered 28-year-old James Zwally in the vehicle early Thursday morning outside a convenience store near Reading.

A concerned passer-by had called Exeter Township police, who said they found three explosive devices in the car. Police immediately removed the children; their relationship to Zwally wasn't immediately clear.

Zwally has been charged with counts including possessing weapons of mass destruction and risking a catastrophe. Police say the car was parked near a rack of propane tanks.

Court records indicate Zwally, of Birdsboro, remained in custody as of Friday afternoon. No attorney was listed.
