Man Holding Baby Sought In Cell Phone Theft At South Philly Target

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who committed a crime inside a department store while holding a baby.

The theft happened at about 6:40 p.m. on May 3rd at the Target store on Mifflin Street in South Philadelphia.

According to investigators, the victim was listening to headphones when she placed her cell phone on the counter.

The victim walked away, accidentally leaving her cell phone on the counter.

A short time later, the male suspect, who was holding a baby, approached the counter and also began to listen to headphones.

The suspect gave the baby to a female companion and picked up the cell phone.

The male then walked out of the store while holding the baby again.

The suspect is described as a white male, with a beard and mustache, medium build, 5'11″. He was wearing a Jeff cap, white short sleeve t-shirt with a distinct design on the front, blue jeans and dark-colored shoes.
