Man, Girlfriend Indicted In Death Of Her Toddler Daughter

GLOUCESTER, N.J. (AP) -- A man accused of sexually assaulting and killing his new girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter has been indicted on felony murder charges.

Camden County prosecutors say 22-year-old Michael Disporto Jr., of Manahawkin, also faces charges of murder and aggravated sexual assault in the indictment handed up earlier this month by a county grand jury. It was made public Tuesday.

The child's mother, 26-year-old Amber Bobo of Gloucester City, was indicted on a child endangerment charge.

The girl died in July from blunt force trauma to the head. Authorities have said Bobo noticed injuries on the girl at her home and suggested taking her to the hospital, but she waited seven hours to get treatment because Disporto waved her off.

It's not known if Disporto or Bobo have retained attorneys.
