Man Arrested For DUI After Driving Car Into Philadelphia Home

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A man is under arrest in Philadelphia after driving his car into a home in the city's Oxford Circle section.

Authorities say the incident occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m, when a 33-year-old man was driving a 2012 black Nissan at what officials are describing as a high rate of speed.

The man lost control of the car and landed on the lawn of the property before striking the house on the 6400 block of Algon Avenue.

Officials say the driver suffered bruises to his arms and legs. They added that the home suffered some structural damage and that a woman was in the home at the time, but not injured.

Police say the man was arrested for driving under the influence.
