Man shot, killed inside Germantown barbershop: police

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Germantown barbershop turned into a crime scene after a man was shot and killed Thursday afternoon. The shooting happened just after 1 p.m. inside the Wild Styles barbershop.

There was a large police presence as they processed the scene and the police wrapped up their initial investigation.

Police say someone walked into the barbershop and opened fire, hitting the victim multiple times and killing him. The man was rushed to Einstein Hospital where he was pronounced dead before 1:30 p.m.

The murder has neighbors rattled.

"It's scary. I was sitting right there," Robert Davis said. "I peeked out. Never expected anything to happen right here because of the police station. That's pretty bold."

CBS News Philadelphia spoke to a woman who runs the nonprofit EMIR, which stands for Every Murder Is Real. They've been working on anti-violence efforts in Germantown for over a decade.

"This we have to fix," Chantay Love said. "Ease some of the pain and we can fix this."

No one has been arrested and no weapon has been recovered.
