Man Critically Injured In North Philly Hit-Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A man is fighting for his life after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run early Friday morning in the Hunting Park neighborhood of Philadelphia.

Police say the 45-year-old victim was found unconscious at 5th Street and Hunting Park Avenue just after 3 a.m. with numerous injuries, including a broken pelvis, broken knee, and his head was bleeding heavily.

"Medics were unable to revive him. He was transported to Temple Hospital where he is presently in critical condition," says Chief inspector Scott Small.

Small says there were no witnesses, but police are looking through surveillance video from nearby businesses:

"Hopefully these recorded something that can help us with this investigation."

Police also found pieces of a vehicle nearby.

Small asks anyone who has information to call police.
