Man Charged In Shooting Death Near South Street Concert Venue

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A man has been charged in a shooting death near a concert venue in Philadelphia on the eve of the Labor Day weekend.

Police said 25-year-old John Green died less than a half-hour after he was shot shortly after 8 p.m. Friday in the in the city's popular South Street entertainment area.

The shooting happened two doors from the Theatre of the Living Arts, where many people were in line for a concert. Police said they weren't sure whether the shooting was related to the show.

Police said Tuesday that 28-year-old Tylee Wilbur of Philadelphia had been charged with murder and weapons offenses. Court documents don't list an attorney who could respond to the charges and a message left at a number listed in Wilbur's name was not immediately returned.
