Man Accused Of Killing Caseworker At Delaware County Hospital Reportedly Pleads Guilty But Mentally Ill

MEDIA, Pa. (CBS) – A man accused of fatally shooting his caseworker at a Delaware County hospital complex has pleaded guilty but mentally ill to first degree murder charges.

Forty-nine-year-old Richard Plotts reportedly entered the plea on Tuesday, July 14.

Plotts is charged with murder and other offenses in connection with the death of 53-year-old Theresa Hunt at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby in July 2014.

A psychiatrist, Lee Silverman, reportedly pulled out his own gun and wounded Plotts. Silverman suffered graze wounds during the incident.
