Interstate 95 Southbound Lanes Reopen After Fatal Fiery Crash Near Vine Street Expressway Exit
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- All lanes on I-95 South have reopened after an early morning crash that engulfed a vehicle in flames and killed a man. Chopper 3 was over the aftermath on I-95 South near Exit 22 leading to the Vine Street Expressway.
The crash happened around 5 a.m. Tuesday and the highway was shut down for at least five hours, causing major backups during the morning commute.
There is no word yet on whether anyone else was injured or what caused the two-vehicle crash.
Mass delays and sunglare this morning! This is I-95 South at the Betsy Ross Bridge exit. Delays are stacked due to a minivan vehicle fire blocking the I-95 exit to Vine St Expressway. Drive times are up to 40-50 minutes between Woodhaven and Girard. @CBSPhilly @TotalTrafficPHL pic.twitter.com/GNzaZc7UY8
