Police Arrest Machete-Wielding Suspect Wanted In Robbery At Tamu Market In Evesham Township

 EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- The man who was armed with a machete during a robbery at a convenience store in Evesham Township has been arrested, police say. Officers located a man matching the suspect's description walking in the Allison Apartment Complex around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday.

When detectives arrived on the scene, they determined the man stopped by officers was the suspect who wielded a machete during a robbery at the Tamu Market on North Maple Avenue, around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 19.

During the robbery, police say the suspect displayed a machete and ordered the cashier to empty the register. He then fled with cash and vape packs.

The suspect was arrested during a search of his home.

Police say they found the machete and some of the stolen items at his home.
