Police: Man Attacks 61-Year-Old Father With Machete

LINDENWOLD, N.J. (CBS)—Police in Camden County say a man has been arrested and charged after attacking his father with a machete.

It happened around 5:45 p.m. Monday in the unit block of Grove Avenue in Lindenwold, New Jersey.

Police say 29-year-old James Rodgers struck his 61-year-old father multiple times in the head and body with a machete.

The father was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where he is still receiving treatment.

Rodgers was arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Rodgers is being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility.
