YARDLY, Pa. (CBS) - A police department in Bucks County is unveiling body cameras today, and hosting a demonstration of the devices for other law enforcement agencies.

Each of the 40 officers of the Lower Makefield Police Department is now equipped with a Taser Axon body camera.

"They're very sophisticated cameras," says Lower Makefield police chief Kenneth Coluzzi.

Chief Coluzzi says the camera will record what the officer sees, which he says he believes will benefit the officer:

"Often a lot of false claims and false accusations against police officers and I think this camera is going to bring to light a lot of these false accusations and protect the police officer in the long run."

Chief Coluzzi says they did extensive research in picking this particular model things like video storage and dealing privacy issues related to cameras.

He says they hope to share what they've learned with other agencies in the area.
