Lord Stanley's Cup Pays A Visit To Sea Isle City, N.J.

SEA ISLE CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- The Stanley Cup had a day at the beach today, thanks to former Flyers' coach John Stevens.
Hockey tradition allows everyone on the championship team to have the Stanley Cup for a day.

Former Flyers' coach (and current LA Kings' assistant coach) John Stevens brought the cup to his summer home in Sea Isle City.
At the same time, he says he'd be happy to see his former team end its 40-year championship drought.
"I think they're an up-and-coming team in the league," Stevens (second from left in photo) tells KYW Newsradio, "so I'd be thrilled to see Philadelphia win a cup. Because if this is the response from the cup coming to a local town like Sea Isle, you can imagine what Philadelphia will do."
Hundreds of fans lined up on the beach to get close to hockey's holy grail.
"I've never seen that before," said Pat Wade, of West Chester, Pa. "I've seen the World Series trophy for the Phillies, so now we've got number two down. We just need the Eagles to win the other one!"
The turnout was so large that the photo line had to be cut off after an hour and a half.
