Lolita Restaurant: Bacon Guacamole, $11

This is an excellent restaurant, with many enticing items on the menu. We opened with the guacamole, which comes in three flavors – bacon being the best. It arrives in a generous bowl, accompanied by a combination of corn, malanga and plantain chips for dipping.

The creamy guac has a generous amount of chopped-up bits of smoked bacon, enough that you get a few on every chip. Well apportioned, well done. It's covered with flecks of cotija cheese. Nice. And then, for some reasons, it's intermingled with green peas. Didn't work for me. And, to be candid, the Lolita guacamole had way too much salt for our taste.

In the end, a disappointment. Good drinks, however.

Score: 64/100
