By Chelsea Lacey-Mabe

MILLVILLE (CBS) -- Calling all book lovers!

A children's book drive is underway in Millville where several businesses are busy collecting new and gently used books from local residents.

Mrs. M's Hooked on Books drive will run through Saturday, June 4, ending with an outdoors celebration of reading between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Dock and Foundry Streets.

At the neighborhood literacy event children will be broken into reading circles based on their age and given more books to take home with them! Several school summer reading programs and the Millville Public Library will also be there to provide information about their programs and hand out library cards.

Hometown hero Judith Breeden McFarland is the "Mrs. M" behind the drive. Judith and her husband Tom are well-known in the Millville community for giving back to the neighborhood any way they can.

Book drop-offs are located at Bogart's Books and Colonial Flowers both on High Street as well as Memorial High School on Broad Street.

Besides books, McFarland and book drive volunteer Tamara Hunter-Ransom from the neighborhood organization Taking Back Millville are asking for donations in the form of hot dogs to serve at the June 4 event as well as craft supplies the kids can use to make their own bookmarks.
