It's Game Day For 3 Local College Basketball Teams

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- After a week of hype and anticipation, it's finally game day for the three local teams in the NCAA Tournament.

Temple students and fans are heading to Brooklyn today, to cheer their Owls in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The anticipation is ramping up for the Owls' contest against Iowa. Junior Dan Roper can hardly wait.

"Everybody's getting into it now, now that it's game day. People are starting to build up for it and get excited for it."

Freshman Renee Handline is heading to Brooklyn, but she says there's plenty of Owl spirit on North Broad.

"I can tell a lot of people are getting behind the team on campus, even just people wearing our colors more. The band, they've been doing pep rallies everywhere."

Temple students say while a possible second-round showdown against Villanova is tempting, they want to concentrate first on beating Iowa.
