Local Medical Center Offers Free Wig Salon For Patients Undergoing Cancer Treatments

LANGHORNE, Pa. (CBS) – A medical center in Bucks County is offering a free wig salon for patients undergoing cancer treatments and experiencing hair loss.

St. Mary Medical Center says they are proud to be the first in Bucks County to offer the program, provided by the American Cancer Society.

"We are so pleased to partner with the American Cancer Society and offer this service to patients," said Jeanette Stemen, Oncology Program Director, St. Mary Medical Center, "St. Mary is committed to providing our community with the highest-quality care. That includes advanced technology, as well as the integrated services to promote the healing of body, mind, and spirit."

They say the service is available to any woman with a cancer diagnosis and allows for one free wig per diagnosis.

When booking a private appointment for the wig salon, women are asked about the color and style preferred and selections are made from an inventory of about 25 wigs in stock.

Patients who are interested should call the St. Mary Regional Cancer Center to set up an appointment for a fitting at 215-710-2418.
