Local Man Invents Marijuana Based Board Game

By Marcy Norton

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Now that some form of marijuana use is legal in nearly half of U.S. states, there's a growing market for cannibis-related products, and a retired Huntington Valley dentist is reviving an idea he had long ago; a pot-based board game.

Paul Greenwald thought up his game called "Pass the Grass" in the 70's, and when Colorado became the first state to legalize recreational marijuana, Greenwald started the 2 year process of redesigning the game and finding a manufacturer.

"The intent of the game is to be played in the 23 states where medical and recreational marijuana is legal," Greenwald said.

And you play it pretty much like any other board game with one distinct difference.

"You roll the dice, you move your player around the board, you could land on a square that tells you, eat some munchies," Greenwald explained. "You could land on a square that it would tell you to take a hit off a joint."

The game is for sale on Amazon or at the website, Pass the Grass.com.
